Daniel Arsham is without a doubt one of the coolest artists of his generation. The American artist is not afraid to explore and collaborate with various brands such as Porsche 911, Star Wars or Pokémon, which are all totems of his childhood. His latest collaboration to date: a one-of-a-kind surfboard which he customised with his signature take on temporality as a destructive force. This “relic of the waves”, as he calls it, is a functional eroded “crystalized” surfboard that gives the illusion of having suffered the test of time. Bearing the artist’s signature erosion method, the surfboard plays with the duality of transparency and the suggested heaviness of an object that is in fact light.
