The tiny seaside resort of Melides, a stone’s throw from Lisbon, had all the assets needed to convince Christian Louboutin to put down his bags. The only drawback: not a single restaurant! The famous designer decided to follow his heart and remedy this very problematic situation by creating a new space combining both a reception area and a restaurant. That is how the Hotel Vermelho was born. Vermelho meaning vermeil in Portugese. A nod, of course, to Louboutin’s signature colour. As invetarate collector and lover of antiques, Christian Louboutin has endowed his small establishment with some of his finest pieces, giving the space a unique and incredible cachet. The Vermelho Hotel will open its doors in a few days… Just saying!
