By unveiling a collection mischievously titled ‘The Diplomatic World’, Casablanca’s creative director Charaf Tajer shows an exquisite neo-retro vision of travel. It’s not difficult to picture Jean-Claude Belmondo or Claudia Cardinale wearing these clothes. The collection, between elegant tailoring and sportswear, surprisingly finds the perfect balance of chic. At a time when designers often overthink and overdo, Casablanca offers a precise and colorful take on fashion without falling into the trap of feeling like you’re wearing a costume. Although Charaf Tajer isn’t the first designer to take inspiration from airports and travel attire, he goes further by creating prints from Jeanneret’s wicket or launching a brand new sneaker, the Atlantis.
