The latest project of James Stuart & Regli Alvarez just opened its doors this July. The two-year endeavor involved restoring the Portuguese marble staircase, glass skylight and checkerboard tile of an 1896 mansion using organic materials as well as installing low-impact air conditioning and unit-heating water. The rest is an enchanting mix of contemporary decor and local craftsmanship. For the two friends, this project is the culmination of twenty years of carrying out various projects in the region. Beautiful Cádiz, while still under the radar, probably lacked such a destination to get back into people’s hearts. Now the region is ready to shine again.
