Alberto Santos Dumont was thirsty to discover the world. However, the equipment of the time was inconvenient: with a large watch belted around his thigh, the pilot had to consult it constantly to keep to the changes of course of the flight plan. And thus keep the horizon out of sight. Errors multiplied and explorers were regularly lost. Following a discussion with his great friend Louis Cartier, the latter suggested that he think about a system for attaching the watch around his wrist instead. The wristwatch was born. Santos was one of the greatest explorers and this fabulous invention revolutionized watchmaking forever. Now its descendant has arrived with Jake Gyllenhaal as the face of it. Looks like a good start. Looks like a good start.
