Cartier Love x Jacob Elordi: A Loving Revival

If you loved Jacob Elordi’s authentic performance as Elvis Presley in Sofia Coppola’s “Priscilla”, you’ll be delighted to see them reunited for a campaign promoting Cartier’s new LOVE bracelet. It was shot in New York, the very place where its predecessor was invented. In 1969, Aldo Cipullo was a whimsical and imaginative jewellery designer who moved through the bustling atmosphere of New York City with the agility of a panther. At a time when hippies were advocating for love rather than for war, he designed a bracelet for Cartier symbolising the love of everyday objects, for both men and women. Fastened with a removable screw that could be tightened with a screwdriver, this first version was like a love contract that nothing could break. For this new version, the Parisian jewellery Maison has taken the opposite approach: flexible, almost reptile-like, the new LOVE bracelet features a fastening system that requires no tools. But there is a trick: they can be linked together. While the idea of a double-wrap bracelet immediately springs to mind, we imagine that the more daring among us will turn them into chokers, long necklaces, or even precious belts.
