Cartier Baignoire x Lou Douillon: From Mother to Daughter

Lou Douillon received her first Baignoire watch as an 18th-anniversary gift from her mother, Jane Birkin. With such a personal connection to the timepiece, it was only natural for the artist to accept becoming the ambassador of this legendary watch. Louis Cartier was a pragmatist. When an object inspired him for a piece, he would adopt its name. Following the Tank, the Tortue and the Tonneau, the Baignoire (the “bathtub” in English) has found its place in the Cartier’s collections. Its distinctive rectangular case with rounded ends dates back to 1912 and has been worn by Deneuve, Schneider and Moreau, among others. Few brands can boast such an outstanding line-up. Today, revisited in a smaller size that can be worn as a bracelet, this new version is sure to be a hit.
