Bowie x Mother: Welcome to Mars

Mother pays tribute to the otherworldly era of David Bowie’s Ziggy Stardust with a new capsule collection. Drawing inspiration from the iconic rebel, the denim brand has taken his playful, non-conformist spirit as driving force to reinterpret its most classic designs. “As a brand rooted in life experiences during the 1970s, being able to create with the imagery and iconography of the Ziggy Stardust era seemed like the perfect opportunity,” said Tim Kaeding, creative director and co-founder of Mother. “The quintessential Bowie glam shines through in this collection, all with our own distinctive twist.” The T-shirts are designed to resemble vintage concert memorabilia, thus featuring shiny lettering and bold graphics. The “Grab Bag Crop Tee” features some of the artist’s best-loved songs, while “The Strong and Silent Type” tank top features a faded screen print. The “Raglan Crop Cardigan” recalls the shades of his most important album covers, while the flared jeans – the capsule highlight – shine with the metallic lettering “The Jean Genie” and tiny gold stars.
