Located in the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, the building housing this new hotel by the Elegancia group has quite some story. Named in a nod to its debauched past, the Boudoir des Muses is a 4-star hotel built around a vast glass-roofed atrium. Until 1807, this mysterious building lodged an enigmatic theatre—closed by Napoleon because “actresses performing at the place tended to have loose morals’. It then became the Convent of the Daughters of Calvary, closed during the revolution, and over a century later this historic building is finding yet a new life. On each of its three floors, balconies lead to the rooms and suites of the hotel, which is transformed once a month into a cabaret with a whole performance programme. Thick velvet, precious wood panelling and the scent of the forbidden create quite a unique atmosphere. At the table, in the form of plates to share, the flavours of the period meet an inventive cocktail menu. In the basement, a well-designed spa and a small swimming pool make this new address stand out from the crowd.
