Often mistaken for a country, Crete is actually the largest island in the Greek archipelago. There, the Athenian design studio Block 722 has created a stunning 160-room hotel complex, spreading over more than 100 hectares, and sponsored by JW Marriott. With its waterfront setting, it overlooks a vast bay formed by a cape surrounded by turquoise waters. With a green roof and a grey color palette, the hotel offers a cuisine based on the famous balanced Cretan diet, which is said to give the locals spectacular longevity. Kitchen gardens, fish, herbs and local wines are just waiting to be discovered, as the establishment was recently inaugurated.
