A temple of know-how and Parisian elegance, the Del Duca Foundation is now home to Berluti’s latest collection, which celebrates 130 years of remarkable and unique elegance. At the core of the collection lies the Alessandro shoe, designed in 1895 by Alessandro Berluti. Made from a single piece of leather folded in on itself, the revolutionary design of its shoelace made it the shoe par excellence to every tasteful man. Presented this year in the “Mont Thabor” version, a nod to the Maison’s first Parisian address in Paris on the eponymous street, the model is adorned with a series of black shades accentuated by ombré reflections. It is also the occasion to celebrate the forest jacket, invented in 1947 at the request of Le Corbusier, who was looking for a jacket that could bridge the gap between his architectural practice and a night out. Sober, its style is inspired by the outfits worn by Sologne hunters, who wanted to be free to move about while remaining chic. Revised in anthracite suede, pale pink and blackcurrant, it gives workwear an undeniable finesse. Finally, an all-new bag, Périple, in remarkably supple, soft leather completes an outfit that, from cape to shoe, speaks for Berluti’s ability to draw on its heritage to reinvent today’s idea of elegance.
