Growing up in a family of great Ottoman art collectors, Begüm Kiroglu spent her childhood surrounded by works representing an extensive fauna. This is where she finds her main inspiration. For the rest, the young creative (she studied art in Shanghai where she lives part of the year) remains deeply connected to “made in Istanbul”, the city where her jewelry is made. Showcasing both local and traditional craftsmanship, her “cabinet of curiosities” has led her to find beauty everywhere in nature. For several years, insects have made their way into her creations as a brooch, a pair of earrings or a necklace. Poetry, singularity and charm at its best.
