What if the most beautiful place to sleep was closest to the stars? Literally! By asking Axiom to conceive a hotel destined to be docked to the International Space Station (ISS), NASA is placing its bet on the future of space traveling. It’s also the case of Philippe Starck, who was asked by Axiom to design the hotel’s rooms. The result: quilted fabrics are used profusely in every room and handles come in multitudes. Of course, the design had to incorporate quite a few mandatory elements, which is logical come to think of astronauts living in zero gravity. And let’s just say there are quite a few prerequisites to be able to check in: have one million dollar to spend, be at least 21 years old before take-off and have completed a 15-days training beforehand. While the price to pay is quite high, the reward is even greater : the chance to travel around the Earth, touch the Sun and give your Instagram account an instant boost. Who’s in?
