Audemars Piguet is accustomed to making real-life heroes their ambassadors. Take Serena Williams, Mark Ronson or LeBron James, for example. Each of them were chosen for their powerful impact on society. But until today the brand had never taken the term « hero » quite literally. On April 10th, Audemars Piguet unveiled a brand new partnership with the legendary Marvel franchise, launching the new Royal Oak Concept “Black Panther” Flying Tourbillon as the first chapter of the collaboration. This unique timepiece was sold at auction to profit two charities working to help children in need. The idea of this partnership came about after a conversation between François-Henry Bennahmias, CEO of Audemars Piguet, and the American actor Don Cheadle, who is known for his roles in various Marvel Studios movies. Beyond this first timepiece, Audemars Piguet should carry through with this partnership in the future by creating very limited-edition collections of Marvel-themes watches.
