This might finally be tomorrow’s eco-friendly car. The Aptera, believe it or not, is a solar vehicle, able to go on a daily 70km drive without any power supply other than the sun. Its bodywork is made of a new kind of solar panels, and its one-of-a-kind shape is optimized for three purposes: simplicity, cost reduction, and energy efficiency. Still a prototype, this extremely light, three-wheel vehicle offers first-class performances and goes from 0 to 100 km/h in three seconds – which is faster than many of today’s sports cars. Equipped with a state-of-the-art electric drive, the Aptera can reach an autonomy of 1,500 kilometers. This is a first! This might be the beginning of an industrial revolution conceived by two engineers, Steve Fambro and Chris Anthony, neither of whom has worked for a big car manufacturer before.
