Alanui and Jacques Marie Mage joined their forces on a new collaboration celebrating creativity, high-end quality, and heritage. The Italian brand has teamed up with Los Angeles-based producer of luxury eyewear to develop a capsule collection of exclusive sunglasses. Handcrafted in Japan using only the finest materials, this limited-edition collection features two distinct styles, embellished with precious metals, gemstones, and Western motifs to create an eloquent tribute to the traditional arts and culture of the American Southwest. In particular, Zuma, a classic style with a sculptural profile featuring JMM’s signature arrowhead front pins with real turquoise inlays, is enriched with wirecore temples showing a customized silver, gold and turquoise motif inspired by Alanui’s signature Icon geometric pattern. This timeless silhouette is available in four different color combinations: black and sienna; argyle and bronze; beige and highland green; cameo and rose. To develop the Topanga spectacles, showing an iconic frame available in black or argyle, JMM and Alanui joined forces with Kewa Pueblo artist Francisco Bailon, Founder of Anasazi Jeweler, who created an intricate handbeaded temple decoration evoking Alanui’s Icon motif, shown in five different colors. Each pair of Alanui x JMM sunglasses comes with a special turquoise box set, including a tobacco leather envelope case, a tooled leather strap, as well as a bandana-style cleaning cloth.
