Adolfo “Poroto” Cambiaso x Richard Mille, a New Star in the Brand’s Firmament

Richard Mille welcomes Adolfo “Poroto” Cambiaso to its family of partners, which also includes Charles Leclerc, Rafa Nadal, John Malkovich, Sébastien Loeb and Pharrell Williams. Poroto, just 19 years old, is not only a promising polo player but a legend. Son of Adolfo Cambiaso Sr., considered one of the greatest polo players in history, Poroto continues a family tradition with a style that promises to leave its mark.

Already in the saddle at the age of four, at 14 he won the Royal Windsor Cup in the United Kingdom, receiving the trophy directly from the hands of Queen Elizabeth II. Today he is the youngest player ever to have won the Queen’s Cup, the US Open and the Argentine Open, the three most prestigious tournaments in the world of polo. In 2022, the young talent joins his father in the La Dolfina team, the most successful ever with a handicap of 40 goals. Not only that: at just 17 years old, Poroto became the youngest player to win the Argentine Open and to reach a perfect handicap of 10 goals. In the same year, he scored 113 goals, winning the title of top scorer of the Argentine championship and receiving prestigious awards such as the Fair Play Award and the Silver Olympia as best polo player of the year.

“Polo is all about the ability to react quickly, in the moment,” says Poroto. “You have to make quick decisions. The adrenaline is incredible. But to win, you also need good equipment. It’s like F1. If you have good horses, you will have a good team.” Speaking of equipment, Poroto’s new companion on his adventures is the RM 67-02 Automatic Extra-Thin sports watch by Richard Mille. Made of cutting-edge materials such as quartz TPT®, Carbon TPT® and grade 5 titanium, it weighs just 32 grams. “It’s really light and comfortable,” says the young phenomenon. “I wear the watch on the wrist of my left hand that holds the reins, without a glove. And I don’t even feel it…”
