Initially trained in cinema and literature at the Sorbonne university, Jean-Pierre Marois went on to establish a career as an independent filmmaker, producing feature films with directors such as Abel Ferrara, Oliver Stone, and Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu. Having travelled extensively for his work, he developed a deep interest for the hotel industry, and his passion for the arts and his keen visual sensibilities led him to explore the world of hospitality. As a result, Marois undertook in 2015 the ambitious project of transforming the legendary Parisian nightclub Les Bains Douches into a 5-star hotel. Breathing new life into the iconic address that had once been the haunt of the city’s creative elite, he applied his cinematic approach to interior design, branding, and narrative development. Driven by a desire to honour the building’s storied past, he then launched the Bains Guerbois fragrance line in 2016, each perfume in the collection being inspired by a specific year. As a multifaceted creative professional, Jean-Pierre Marois has successfully blended his diverse background with his entrepreneurial spirit.
