Pavel Kolesnikov Plays the Sound of Yohji Yamamoto’s Elegance

Last Friday, we were treated to a double masterclass on artistry, as Pavel Kolesnikov’s piano performance led the way for Yohji Yamamoto’s silhouettes. Echoing the melancholic and solemn soundtrack, models succeeded one another with utmost grace, slowly breaking the imposing darkness of the room through their supple walk. In a resolutely sombre tone, the first looks were devoid of any colour, only allowing a few shy shades of grey and blue, all very demure themselves too. Suddenly, we spotted some threads of red, as if they were fragments left by mistake, resulting from the Japanese couturier’s signature deconstruction interplay. Despite its timid first appearance, however, crimson reveals itself as the star of the show, which concluded with striking full-red outfits.

In the front row, we spotted Sophie Fontanel, Michele Lamy, Juergen Teller, Saint Jhn, and many other celebrities.
