Yohji Yamamoto and His Sculptural Silhouettes Take Over Hôtel de Ville
On Saturday, March 7th, Yohji Yamamoto staged a meditative Fashion Show to present his Fall-Winter 25/26 collection, a proposal that ultimately pushes for a reflection on time and transformation. In line with his avant-garde aesthetic and fondness for black, the Japanese fashion designer delivered yet another masterclass on the art of deconstruction through contrasting textures and timeless silhouettes. Enhanced by the models’ voluminous hairstyles, the large black drapes and sculptural silhouettes make up an intriguing yet highly alluring collection. His signature monochrome palette, which we never tire of, was this time given a twist by a few purple elements, found in several collars and sleeves. But the real surprise came at the very end of the show, as models revealed a full-purple set of long coats. Encompassed by a melancholic soundtrack, the show brought together Chappell Roan, Hugo Marchand, Michele Lamy, J.I.D, Pascal Morand and many others.
