WHITE bIRD puts Orit Elhanati’s jewelry in the spotlight
A well-known spot for lovers of jewelry (and other new discoveries) WHITE bIRD is currently putting Orit Elhanati’s jewelery in the spotlight until March 7th. Based in Copenhagen, the designer (who launched her first jewelry line in 2012) was inspired by her Middle Eastern origins for her work with 18-carat gold. Her jewelry, that combines Nordic design with ornaments from the Middle East, is based on personal memories such as her summers in Tel Aviv drinking tea with her grandmother and friends – all adorned with gold jewelry. In addition to a design blending tradition and modernity, Elhanati jewelry is part of a committed production chain: the gold is recycled and the stones (her favorites are opal and diamond) are sourced in an ethical way to create jewelry entirely handcrafted in Copenhagen. In the midst of Paris Fashion Week, Stéphanie Roger, president of WHITE bIRD, welcomed friends and journalists to discover the collection and meet the designer in honor of this new show. Here’s a look back in pictures.
