The regulars know and expect it: the Kiehl’s Club is the privileged place of meetings between the actors, directors, and prescribers present at the American Film Festival of Deauville. A partner for three years, the house has hosted the best evenings of the festival in its ephemeral club, with the presence of eminent personalities such as Catherine Deneuve, James Franco and Diane Kruger in 2016. This year, one thing is certain, Robert Pattinson was among the most awaited guests of honour. On stage as on the famous beach (where the 31-year-old actor opened his cabin between those of Darren Aronofsky and Harvey Keitel), “Rob” received a tribute from the heart of Bérénice Béjo, just before arriving at Kiehl’s Club smiling to the ears (disfigured by his new shaved haircut). Quickly joined by Jeff Goldblum – also honoured at this 43rd edition of the festival – the president of the jury Michel Hazanavicius and its members, notably Charlotte Le Bon and Benjamin Biolay, the brochette was well stocked and the spirit was there, while until the early morning, the evenings were provided by DJ Nubia and Leo Lanvin. A weekend of events well gratiné which lets prefigure of a week high in cinema.
