Perrotin Dubai Presents “What Remains” by Daniel Arsham

Perrotin, Dubaï

On October 30th, American artist Daniel Arsham unveiled his solo show ‘What Remains’ at the Perrotin gallery in Dubai. The first event of the gallery since its opening, this individual exhibition features a new series of works including sculptures, paintings, drawings and a new sound installation. A sculpture of copper bonsai trees serving as loudspeakers played ambient music in tribute to Japanese Zen culture and the artist’s previous installations of Zen gardens displayed around the world. Backed by this spectacular scenography, new works from his ‘Labyrinth’ series were also presented. In this exhibition, Daniel Arsham keeps reinterpreting objects representative of the 20th century by using his theory of fictional archaeology, which questions collective memory.
