Weill puts on their first ever fashion show at Ritz Paris
A new chapter has added itself to Weill’s history, which has long been defining the contemporary wardrobe. For the first time since its creation in 1892, the French house presented its new collection—for Fall-Winter 2019—with a fashion show, which artistic director Mathilde Castello Branco used to write a love letter to the New Wave and French cinema of the 1960s, embodied by the icons Catherine Deneuve and Jean Seberg. Nothing beats the very private setting of the Ritz Paris to present a collection, which drew Ines de la Fressange, Elsa Zylberstein, Alice Pol and Olivia Ruiz. In the hotel’s intimate atmosphere, thirty silhouettes were shown in the spirit of couture presentations from the ‘50s. The key difference is that the collection tells the contemporary story of a Parisian woman, who knows how to balance between nonchalance and sophistication.
