With “Togeth’her”, 33 artists put women on the cover of Vogue

What do Cleopatra, Isadora Duncan, Frida Kalho, Niki de Saint-Phalle, Nicole Kidman, Madonna, Michelle Obama or Elizabeth Taylor have in common? All of them have left their mark on the world and have shaken up the lines in their own time and fields. So many exceptional women who inspired 33 artists invited by the Monnaie de Paris and Vogue Paris for the “Togeth’Her” exhibition. The magazine gave them carte blanche to design a Vogue cover featuring an inspiring woman for her contribution to history. For the curator David-Hervé Boutin, it is the diversity of artists, all generations combined, that makes this exhibition so strong. Among them, Grayson Perry, Joana Vasconcelos, Jacques Villeglé, Gérard Fromanger, ORLAN, Eva Jospin, Jean-Michel Othoniel, Peter Klasen or Ida Tursic and Wilfried Mille. Personnalities of fashion such as Constance Jablonski, Alexis Mabille or Marie-Agnès Gillot, muse of the cover by Jean-Michel Othoniel, were present at this special event. At the end of the exhibition, the works will be sold at Christie’s for the benefit of the UN Women Committee France in order to support programmes in favour of parity and the empowerment of women.
