Vernissages of the Claude Levêque and Mohamed Bourouissa exhibitions at the Kamel Mennour Gallery
This weekend, a few days before the FIAC, the kamel mennour gallery has painted its new exhibitions in its two Germanopratins spaces. Much awaited shows dedicated to regulars of the house: Mohamed Bourouissa and Claude Lévêque.
The latter presents’Monkey Lives’, his third solo exhibition at the gallery, for which he composes a contemporary allegory thanks to his vocabulary of personal mythologies – made of childhood objects, sounds, uncertain calligraphy and Chinese shadows.
Mohamed Bourouissa unveils’Hustling’, an extension of the residency project he set up in 2014 in Philadelphia, USA, in a black American equestrian community. On this occasion, he had proposed to the locals a contest of”tuning” their horses. From costume design to the competition itself, the exhibition returns to this project and reveals in parallel a series of silver photographs of French car body elements.
