Vernissage Cahiers d’art – Philippe Parreno

Until January 18, Cahiers d’Art presents an exhibition of thirty recent drawings by Philippe Parreno, a leading figure on the international contemporary scene, as well as photographs taken from a performance he produced with a colony of Magellan penguins on a beach in Patagonia.

Hans Ulrich Obrist, co-editor of Cahiers d’Art magazine and director of the Serpentine Gallery in London, is the curator of this exhibition. In 2002, he said of Philippe: “If I try to summarize what I have retained, first of all, from the exercise which consisted in apprehending as much as possible all the different aspects, problems, ideas or intuitions which characterize Philippe Parreno’s work, the only thing of which I am really certain is that his thought and his work are precisely impossible to summarize, that they are in a way a form of pure resistance to this attempt. »

Collectors, critics, artists… the art world responded yesterday to the invitation of Cahiers d’Art
