Bernard Frize in the spotlight at the Centre Pompidou

From May 29 to August 26, the Centre Pompidou presents a major exhibition dedicated to Bernard Frize: “Bernard Frize, Sans Repentir”. (It’s been 15 years since his last exhibition, at the Musée d’Art moderne de la Ville de Paris.) The exhibition is the result of a dialogue between the artist and curator Angela Lampe, who used six themes to bring together some 60 works created since 1977. The French artist is celebrating the 25th anniversary of his collaboration with Galerie Perrotin (and simultaneously presenting “Now or Never” in the space on rue de Turenne). Guests invited by Emmanuel Perrotin and the museum included artists Sophie Calle, Jean-Michel Othoniel, Johan Creten, Annette Messager, Wim Delvoye, Xavier Veilhan, and Christian Boltanski. The opening was followed by a private dinner at the Georges and a concert by Flavien Berger, then transitioning to a DJ set by artist Samuel Boutruche.
