Venice Film Festival: dreamy looks and exclusive parties
The Venetian Lido is welcoming back the Venice Film Festival and its rather eclectic crowd. As sun-kissed socialites in evening gowns cross paths with late vacacioners, terrasses are full and the only talk of the town is cinema.
This year’s opening ceremony awarded iconic French actress Catherine Deneuve with the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement. By her side on the red carpet were other industry luminaries such as host Rocio Munoz Morales, Venice Film Festival’s director Alberto Barbera, president of the Venice Biennale Roberto Cicutto and actress Julianne Moore, this year’s president of the International Jury.
Venice is burning as celebrities wander from red carpets to lavish sponsor dinners. On Friday, Cartier took some of its most prestigious brand ambassadors on a sophisticated canal cruise. Guests included Julianne Moore, Bianca Brandolini, Mariacarla Boscono, Mélanie Laurent, Catherine Deneuve, Asaf Avidan, Emma Chamberlain and even Timothée Chalamet wearing Haider Ackermann. María Pedraza, Regé-Jean Page, Simone Ashley, Nicholas Hoult, Barbara Palvin et Valentina Sampaio were styled by sponsor Armani Beauty.
