Brad Pitt, George Clooney and Adrien Brody Bring Generosity to Venice

If there’s one word to summarize the ambience at Venice Lido on Sunday, it’s undoubtedly “generosity.” During the official presentation of the film ‘The Brutalist’, Adrien Brody, dressed in a spectacular all-black outfit, practically threw himself to the fans, walking back and forth on the red carpet multiple times, defying the scorching heat to the delight of the public and photographers.

In Brady Corbet’s film, competing at Venice 81, the American actor plays Hungarian Jewish architect László Tóth, who emigrated to the United States in 1947. ‘The Brutalist’, a marathon of over 210 minutes, seems to have won the hearts of critics, with many predicting it will be among the contenders for the final prize. Alongside Brody on the red carpet were other stars of the film: Isaach De Bankolé, Emma Laird, Joe Alwyn, Guy Pearce, Stacy Martin, and Felicity Jones.

Speaking of generosity, George Clooney and Brad Pitt were just as generous. They chose to mingle with the photographers during the event set up near the Palazzo del Cinema for the premiere of the new action comedy ‘Wolves’, directed by Jon Watts. The superstar duo, reunited for the first time in 16 years, put on quite a show, joking with fans to the delight of the many photojournalists present. At one point, Mr. Clooney even grabbed a camera and started taking pictures, while Mr. Pitt was goofing around just a few steps away from him. Then they switched roles amidst general laughter. In short, it was sublime chaos. Something so out of control had rarely been seen at the film festival, which is usually very respectful of etiquette. Adding to the excitement of the event was the presence of stars like Amy Adams, Austin Abrams , Cate Blanchett. And as a final pearl, Richard Gere, accompanied by his wife Alejandra Silva, whom he met in Venice. As they say: generosity pays off…
