Venice Film Festival, a Parade of Stars on the Legendary Red Carpet

If there were any lingering reservations about the glamour of contemporary cinema, the red carpet at the opening ceremony of the 81st Venice Film Festival cleared them up point blank, as the elite of the international cinema industry made its appearance. A dazzling parade of actresses, actors, directors, producers, rock stars and models gave stark evidence that the seventh art has lost none of its appeal, treating us to a breathtaking moment, reminiscent of the splendour of its golden age.

Tim Burton kicked off the event, which will continue until September 7, with his film “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” presenting a first-class cast that includes his partner Monica Bellucci, the enfant terrible Jenna Ortega, the eternal rebel Winona Ryder, and Michael Keaton. Alongside them, other stars also graced the legendary Venetian red carpet, including Isabelle Huppert, Willem Dafoe, Patti Smith, a radiant Cate Blanchett, Zhang Ziyi, Mariacarla Boscono, Camille Cottin, and the Victoria’s Secret Angel fallen from heaven, Izabel Goulart. The cherry on top of the rich program for the opening ceremony, hosted by Sveva Alviti, was the presentation of the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement to Sigourney Weaver. Not a bad start…
