UAE’s First Female Ambassador to France Presents Her Book at the French National Library
H.E. Hend Al Otaiba, UAE’s first-ever female ambassador to France, presented her book “Majlon – Building Bridges Through Diplomacy” (Edition Mazara) on June 26th. The event was held at the Library of the French National Institute of Art History, in the Salle Labrouste, an architectural masterpiece.
Derived from the combination of the Arabic word “Majlis” (meaning “intellectual circle”) and the French word “Salon”, the Majlon is a series of events initiated by the UAE Embassy in France. It brings together personalities from the worlds of politics, business and culture, and allows them to address key issues of mutual interest such as culture, space, inter-religious dialogue and innovation, with the aim of further deepening the bonds between the two countries.
The 10th edition of the Majlon has brought together many personalities for the presentation of the book published in 3 languages (Arabic, English and French). The guests were able to enjoy a concert led by conductor and UNESCO Artist for Peace Amine Kouider, during which the best of the Emirati and French repertoires were played.
During this cocktail, we met H.E. Leena Al-Hadid, Éric de Rothschild, Monique Lang, Jack Lang, Arnaud Ngatcha, Caterina Lo Mascolo Minthe, Olivier Cadic, Harry Nuriev and Catherine Bonifassi.
