Salone del Mobile: Tod’s and Willie Cole present ‘Artcycling’
On the occasion of Salone del Mobile, which was postponed to September this year, Tod’s just unveiled a new initiative in collaboration with the American artist Willie Cole. With ‘Artcycling’, the Italian House offered the artist to give new life to unused materials by transforming them into sculptural works. Willie Cole, who has been known to hijack everyday objects since the 1990s, worked for ten days with Tod’s artisans to create these works that align with the House’s anti-waste initiative, Tod’s Mosaic, a collection created entirely from unused materials through a patchwork technique in favor of sustainability. Here’s a look back at the inauguration of the project in the presence of the brand’s artistic director Walter Chiapponi, its CEO Diego Della Valle and top models Cindy Bruna and Eva Herzigova.
