Tod’s Signs the New Milanese Fashion Classics
After the Laboratory Ansaldo at Teatro alla Scala and the Pavilion of Contemporary Art, Tod’s chooses one of Milan’s iconic venues to stage the FW24/25 Fashion Show: the historic tram depot of Darsena, a symbol of the city’s liveliness and dynamism. Tod’s style: natural and timeless elegance, a casual sense of formal, exceptional quality, and craftsmanship as precious as sophisticated. Under the creative direction of Matteo Tamburini, the label proposes a collection embodying the duality between urban life and leisure, formality and informality, tradition and innovation – epitomised by pieces such as the leather trench coat, the masculine coat in fabric or double-faced wool, the oversized field jacket, or an enveloping coat trimmed with leather. Tailored wool serge suits include pants with wide cuffs and collarless or single-breasted jackets borrowed from the masculine wardrobe. Cashmere or wool and silk sweaters layer upon each other, cardigans over cardigans, thus renewing the concept of the twin set.
The new signature feature of Tod’s shoes is also present: a subtle metallic strip reinterpreting iconic models such as the Gommino and the moccasin, while fine fringes that create movement with every step enrich the Yorky model. As for the motorcycle-inspired boots, these become feminine thanks to brushed leathers that speak for the Italian craftsmanship.
Last but not least, the deconstructed-lined bags highlight precious shapes and materials. Tod’s renews its heritage with a reinterpretation of the Di Bag Swing, which makes its appearance in soft leathers, with inverted handles on each side, oversized volumes, and saddle stitches. A complete, and captivating, lecture on fashion. Among the celebrities in attendance, we spotted Mélanie Laurent, Lorenzo Viotti, and Tina Kunakey, to name but a few.
