Thomas Lélu Presents TODAY I DID NOTING at La Cité Gallery
Until 12 October 2023, the contemporary art gallery La Cité is presenting a selection of new works by artist Thomas Lélu. Filled with statements, mantras and handwritten slogans, these pieces belong to his recent series on Instagram (which went viral) and speak for Thomas Lélu’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of art.
Bearing a title as provocative and nonchalant as the artist himself, “Today, I Did Noting” highlights Thomas Lélu’s unconventional approach, which makes his work elude any boxing category. By adding an ironic twist to everyday life situations and both individual and social behaviours, Thomas Lélu reinforces the artist’s position as that of a person moving freely around the world, with dexterity and casualness.
