The World Through IA at the Jeu de Paume
Marking the first major group exhibition exploring in such depth the interactions between artificial intelligence and artistic creation, “The World Through IA” brings together a wide range of media such as photography, film, video installations, sculpture, literature and music. The exhibition not only showcases AI-generated works, it also invites visitors to reflect on the societal, political and environmental issues associated with these technologies. It questions, among other things, the impact of AI on images and visual culture, the issue of surveillance and the inequalities associated with its production. Visitors are invited to experience a world according to AI or “through AI”, and to consider what it means to perceive, imagine, understand, transform and remember a world increasingly traversed by these technologies. At the inauguration, we met curator Antonio Somaini, alongside exhibited artists Kate Crawford, Vladan Joler, Agnieszka Kurant and Christian Marclay, as well as Louis-Gabriel Nouchi, Chris Dercon and Alexandre Samson…
