The Théâtre National de la Dance Puts Fashion in the Spotlight with Chaillot Expérience#6

Chaillot Théâtre national de la Danse

The undisputed capital of fashion, Paris is strengthening its position well beyond Fashion Weeks by paying tribute to the art of couture in its prestigious cultural institutions. And since a fashion show is, essentially, a choreographed performance, Chaillot – Théâtre national de la Danse is also paying homage to the links between these two realms with Chaillot Expérience #6 – Mode. Sponsored by Maison Camille Fournet and AMagCuratedBy, this final instalment of the programme puts fashion in the spotlight from April 4th to 5th.

Some of the proposals embodying this alliance between fashion and dance include the result of a special partnership between Chaillot-Théâtre national de la Danse and the Villa Noailles: Two projects starring choreographers Anna Chirescu and Grégoire Schaller and fashion designer Lucille Thièvre, as well as choreographer Nicolas Huchard and fashion designer Guillaume Boulez. The programme also featured the 40th-anniversary Fashion Show by Fifi Chachnil, a performance by composer Koki Nakano with dancer Tess Voelker, the “100% Polyester” installation by Christian Rizzo and Caty Olive, and a concert by Eloi. A whole series of workshops and lectures rounded off this unique programme, where the creations of renowned designers such as Azzedine Alaïa, Jean-Paul Gaultier and Issey Miyake were sublimated by body language. During this elegant evening, we met Ellen Von Unwerth, Vincent Darré, Arielle Dombasle, Inès de la Fressange, Catherine Baba and Philippe Katerine.
