The Société des Amis des Musées d’Orsay et de l’Orangerie Toasts to Young Patrons of the Arts

Founded in 1980, the Société des Amis des musées d’Orsay et de l’Orangerie (SAMO) is a nonprofit sponsored by the Société des Amis, who contribute to the acquisition of works by the museums. It brings together art lovers for special visits and exclusive events throughout the year. This is the fourth edition of a cocktail reception held to foster the growth of the Circle of Young Patrons and the creation of a fund for the Musée de l’Orangerie, an initiative aimed at contributing to the flourishment of the museum and its collection.

The Musée de l’Orangerie’s collection covers a range of distinctive subjects in twentieth-century art, ranging from Claude Monet’s Water Lilies, the ultimate masterpiece and founder of abstraction and immersive painting, to Paul Guillaume and Domenica Walter’s collection of paintings, characterised by the tension between modernity and figuration. Not to forget masterpieces by Renoir, Matisse, Cézanne, Picasso, Douanier Rousseau, Modigliani, and Soutine. During the evening, we met Amélie Bertrand, Paul Mouginot, Mathias Ary Jan, Jean Solanet, Sylvain Amic, Jean-Louis Milin, Claire Bernardi, and Thomas Lévy-Lasne.
