The RAK ART FOUNDATION Prizewinners Revealed at the Monnaie de Paris and the Piaget Apartment
Awarded during the ASIA NOW fair at the Monnaie de Paris, the RAK ART FOUNDATION prize is given to contemporary artists whose work embodies heritage and continuous commitment to artisans. It promotes collaboration between international artists and Bahraini craft traditions. The two chosen artists get a month-long residency at The Art Station, in the heart of the Muharraq souk. There, they’ll work on a new project with Bahraini master artisans. Open to artists of all ages represented by galleries showing at the ASIA NOW fair, this year’s award went to Meher Afroz and Nomin Zezegmaa.
The event was followed by a cocktail party organised with Maison Piaget, where we met Omer Nadi, Ludovic Delalande, Hamra Abbas, John Tain, Alexandra Fain, Germaine Kruip, and Shwetal Patel, among others.
