The North Face gives Paris a sneak peek at its Black Series collection

The North Face tackled a new mountain on Monday night, kicking off Paris Fashion Week with the launch of the brand’s design-driven SS20 Black Series collection. “Born on the highest peaks, but reimagined for the city.” the collection pairs technologically-advanced materials with modern aesthetics for a fashion-forward collection. The collection, designed by The North Face’s creative director Tim Hamilton, takes the fashion-meets-function concept to new heights with several pieces using its new breathable, waterproof  “Futurelight” material. The designs draw from archival pieces like the Geodesic Dome and the Mountain Light jacket to put a new twist on classics. There’s also a renewed focus on a women-focused aesthetic complete with ultra-feminine silhouettes in addition to men’s pieces and more gender-neutral designs. Innovation and imagination collide in this reinvention of styles born on the mountains, but ready to brave the urban jungle. The collection will officially launch in stores around the world, but an international sporty chic crowd gathered at the Musée des Arts Décoratifs to discover the collection including Sarah Andelman, Léo Walk or Fiona Zanetti.
