The Louvre Celebrates Couture with an Exceptional Night Programme
Last night, the Louvre hosted an exceptional evening featuring fashion shows, talks, workshops and performances spreading across the entirety of the museum spaces. Jordan Roth presented Radicals Acts of Unrelenting Beauty, a performance composed of three tableaux—“Red”, ‘Wings’ and “Pyramid”—exploring the dynamics of identity and beauty, as well as the transformative and expressive power of these symbols. The PARTICIPATIVE WAAKING DEFILE, a unique runway show organised by Mounia Nassangar, welcomed guests to take to the catwalk and try their hand at striking a pose, guided by top coaches and an underground DJ set. The programme also featured a discussion with Olivier Gabet, curator of the exhibition, and Loïc Prigent. After the talk, the columnist and fashion historian led the audience behind the scenes of the Louvre Couture exhibition, a historical display worth visiting in every respect. Later in the evening, Clara Ysé performed two intimate, timeless concerts at the foot of the legendary Victory of Samothrace staircase. Finally, Lucky Love’s performance beneath the Pyramid brought the evening to a dazzling close. A standout figure both on stage and on the haute couture runway, Lucky Love has established himself as a bridge between music and elegance. Following a spellbinding performance at John Galliano’s memorable Collection Artisanal 2024 show for Maison Margiela and a widely acclaimed appearance at the Paris 2024 Paralympic™ Games celebrations, he was the guest of honour at this special evening, presenting an original creation beneath the Louvre Pyramid, accompanied by a gospel choir.
During this unique evening, we caught a glimpse of Charles de Vilmorin, Nelson Tiberghien and Isabelle Chaput, Kiddy Smile, Arnaud Vaillant, Catherine Baba, Johan Creten…
