The Inaugural Edition of Le Grand Dîner du Louvre
Last Tuesday, the Musée du Louvre hosted a special event dubbed “The French Met Gala” to celebrate its latest exhibition: Louvre Couture. Spread over the museum’s 9,000m2 premises, this unprecedented exhibition features more than a hundred looks, paying tribute both to the heritage of 45 Maisons and the history of fashion at large, from the Middle Ages to our present day. In the spirit of the prestigious New York fundraising gala, held every May at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, this inaugural Parisian edition kicked off Fashion Week, asserting the relevance of the capital as a cultural hub. Nearly thirty fashion Maisons answered the call, and over 30 tables were sold to raise money for the institution. After dinner, an exclusive after-party was held under the museum’s Pyramid, hosted by Grammy Award-winner Doechii, who delivered a fiery DJ set. We caught a glimpse of Gigi Hadid, Jeremy Scott, Ashley Graham, Cindy Bruna, Keira Knightley, Simon Porte Jacquemus, and Michelle Yeoh, to name but a few.
