The Galerie Downtown Hosts A Luncheon at Their New Space in Normandy
Known for showcasing renowned designers such as Carlo Mollino, Gio Ponti, Ettore Sottsass, Gaetano Pesce and Alessandro Mendini, the Galerie Downtown was founded by François Laffanour and Mara Cremniter in 1982. It specializes in 20th-century modern furniture, mostly by Jean Prouvé, Charlotte Perriand, Jean Royère and Mathieu Matégot. June 29th saw the inauguration of the new Galerie Downtown space: LH14140 – Downtown/ Normandy, dedicated to furniture, architecture and sculpture. The Plaza Athénée team, led by Jean Imbert, organized a “luncheon on the grass” to better appreciate the outdoor architecture and sculptures of the property. With its resolutely contemporary spirit, the gallery is sure to appeal to an ever-wider public thanks to this new regional location.
At the luncheon, alongside François Laffanour, we met Kris Van Assche, Tom Fecht, Michel Rein, Laurent Grasso and many others.
