The FIAC Vernissage, Level I

This year FIAC celebrates its 40th edition. Always more proposals, always more power of attraction with the curious, but also and especially galleries and collectors worldwide, the fair continues its progress in the leading pack of major international events. For four days and as many nights, Paris vibrates to the rhythm of art in the four corners of its beautiful districts, from the jardin des Plantes to the Tuileries, passing through the Louvre and, new this year, a new antenna perched on the Cité de la Mode et du Design called FIAC (Off)icielle (which nevertheless hosts 68 galleries).

The epicentre of this whirlwind of images and ideas, the Grand Palais acts as a flagship. The largest galleries are located on the street and display their most bankable foals with pomp and opulence. But at the FIAC, everything is not just a matter of big money: a little higher up, in the alleys of the first floor, the young galleries also make their big ritual mass there, including a pretty part of hexagonal. Bugada & Cargnel, Triple V, Crève-coeur, Continua, Marcelle Alix are among the cast for the 2014 edition. Ballade the evening of the opening with Michael Huard, who went to level I to greet some friends.
