The fashion vision of Martine Sitbon
On this Monday evening, Parisian fashion had an appointment at the concept store The Broken Arm for the signing of Martine Sitbon’s monograph which is being released these days at Rizzoli.
From the very beginning, the French designer has marked fashion not only by her eponymous brand but also by being one of the first young designers to be named in a house when she became artistic director at Chloé in 1988. She has signed with her elegant and feminine label a whole section of fashion history.
Thirty years of fashion are traced through the pages of this beautiful book where Nick Knight, Mario Sorrenti and Peter Lindbergh’s images can be seen and seen again. His long-time collaborator, Marc Ascoli, was the artistic director, while Olivier Saillard, extraordinary curator of the Galliera Museum, whose every proposal has the appearance of a great fashion mass, as well as the influential journalists Fabrice Paineau and Angelo Flaccavento, who wrote the texts.
On the walls, large format prints from the book welcomed the many guests who came to congratulate Martine Sitbon and especially to have their copy -“sold out” in less than an hour – of Martine Sitbon: Alternative Vision signed. In the queue, delivered by hand, we could see Felipe Oliveira Baptista (Lacoste) as Johanna Senyk (Wanda Nylon) or Elie Top, Edward Enninful and Stefano Tonchi.
