The Dîner des Amis du Centre Pompidou: 70’s Dancefloor
As the Centre Pompidou begins its renovation, the Constellation program will allow the masterpieces of the national collection to be displayed in major exhibitions in Paris, France and abroad. To celebrate this initiative, the Dîner des Amis du Centre Pompidou was held in the heart of the permanent collections, which closed that evening. The Amis du Centre Pompidou are co-chairing this special evening with the American Friends of the Centre Pompidou : a tribute to their ongoing contribution to the enrichment of the collections since the Centre Pompidou opened its doors in 1977 thanks to Dominique de Ménil. More than 1,000 collectors, philanthropists and personalities from the French and international cultural, art and luxury scenes attended the event. The proceeds of the dinner will be used to acquire major works of art for the Museum’s collections.
For this 70’s Black Tie-themed evening, music expert Jean-Charles de Castelbajac invited Kids Return to celebrate the release of their new album “1997” and their concert at the Olympia in May. There, we met Jean-Michel Othoniel, Lee Ufan, JR, Sophie Calle, Nina Childress, Julien Creuzet, Harry Nuriev, Lina Ghotmeh, Edgar Sarin, India Madhavi, Annette Messager, Tarik Kiswanson, Tarek Atoui, Troy Makaza, Giulia Andreani, Eva Jospin, Johan Creten, Hélène Delprat, Jordan Roth, among others.
