The Amis du Palais de Tokyo Celebrate Contemporary Creation with Their Annual Gala Dinner

Palais de Tokyo, Paris

On May 19th, the Amis du Palais de Tokyo held their annual gala dinner, which also marked the opening of “ALPHABÉTA SIGMA”. Dedicated to RAMMELLZEE and curated by Hugo Vitrani, the exhibition is the first instalment of a two-part series. It sheds light on the prolific universe of the New York artist, before a sequel at the Capc in Bordeaux in 2026. An artistic endeavour made possible by the partners of Les Amis du Palais de Tokyo, including Les Graphiquants, Walter Films, The New York Times, Novelty, Steinway & Sons, Maison Francis Kurkdjian, Alain Milliat, Domaine Berthelemot, Ruinart, Potel & Chabot, Estate de Rammellzee, Galerie Jeffrey Deitch and Galerie Bene Taschen.

In keeping with the exhibition’s theme, the evening featured a hybrid artistic program, with performances by pianist Koki Nakano, choreographer Nicolas Huchard and a DJ Set by DJ Bé. Artistic director Hugo Vitrani also chose to include photographs by Jamel Shabazz. More than a gala dinner, this event embodies the mission of the Amis du Palais de Tokyo: to support the contemporary scene and the Palais’ daring projects, building bridges between disciplines, generations and regions.

We met Mathias Kiss, Sophie Calle, Constance Guisset, Hélène Nguyen-Ban, Claire Hazan, Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Malaika Bigirumwami, Harry Nuriev, Christophe Wiesner and many others.
