The 38th Edition of the International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Accessories – Hyères: Celebrating Emergent Creators

From Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 October 2023, the Villa Noailles hosted the 38th edition of the International Festival of Fashion, Photography and Accessories – Hyères. This emblematic event, directed by Jean-Pierre Blanc and chaired by Pascale Mussard, stands as the oldest competition for young professionals on an international scale.

Since its foundation in 1986, the festival has broadened its scope to include more disciplines: from 1997, it also became a platform highlighting the work of emerging photographers, and since 2016, it dedicates a section to honour accessory designers too. This year, the festival reaffirms its role as a key institution showcasing and supporting the work of the industry’s emerging designers.

The competition attracts young designers from all over the world, thus providing exceptional exposure and unique opportunities to its participants. Besides industry recognition, winners also benefit from financial support from the festival’s sponsors, all major players in the fashion and luxury industries. These partners are committed to supporting the winners for two years, from financing to production, craftsmanship and legal aspects.

This 2023 edition of the festival enjoyed the loyal support of prestigious partners such as CHANEL, 19M, Première Vision, LVMH, Hermès, American Vintage, the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode, Le Défi, Galeries Lafayette, L’Atelier des Matières, Mercedes-Benz and many others.

The Festival is an undisputed hotspot for emerging creativity. With each passing edition, it continues to forge lasting links between young designers and the industry, shaping the future of the international fashion scene.

The prestigious fashion jury included Sophie Fontanel, Alice Moitié, Bilal Hassani, Charles de Vilmorin, Babeth Djian, Pierre de Maere and Antoine Gagey. The accessories jury, chaired by Alan Crocetti, included Tyrone Dylan, Maria Bernad, Beka Gvishiani, Nono Vàzquez and Laura Vandall. The photography jury – chaired by Luis Alberto Rodriguez – also included Jordan Hancock, Paul Mpagi Sepuya, Francesco Risso, Adam Murray and Edward Buchanan.
