Never before has an edition of the Hyères Festival been so awaited as 2015. And for good reason: this year the photo-fashion event celebrated its 30th anniversary with Chanel as its partner of choice and its unpacking of tweed, catogan and people. It has to be said that, despite the most enveloping industrial presence, the friendly atmosphere that made the festival an unmissable event did not miss the call. Or the parties that accompany it, for that matter. Or the sun, either.
At the Villa Noailles, the epicentre of this great open-air mass, appointments follow one another for three days and three nights in a sequence so immutable that Festival regulars could hurry up with their eyes closed..: opening cocktail, presentations, evening, Templar Tower vernissage, outdoor concerts, evening, masterclass, conferences, parade, evening, awards ceremony & co. In disorder. Evening.
In this hodgepodge of fashion and music that loves traditions and animates its native city, the very special edition has seen (instant name-dropping) : Karl Lagerfeld gives his wise advices, Jacquemus and JCDC as experts on Instagram, Christophe on piano at the Chanel evening, Woodkid live surprise at the Villa Noailles, The Shoes in trance at the turntables of a local club, Caroline of Hanover as prince jury, but also and above all the consecration of the Franco-German designer Annelie Schubert and the artist Sjoerd Knibbeler, respectively winner of the Grand Prix du Jury mode and winner of the Grand Prix du Jury Photographie du Festival de Hyères 2015. The thirties, then. Great for them.
