The 10th Edition of AKAA Highlights the African Art Scene

Carreau du temple, Paris

The 10th edition of AKAA (Also Known As Africa), the art and design fair held at the Carreau du Temple in Paris, celebrates a decade of commitment to the art scenes of Africa and its diasporas. Led by Sitor Senghor, who is taking over as artistic director, the fair brings a new vision and a dynamic of renewal. Since its creation in 2016, AKAA has established itself as an essential platform for contemporary African and Afro-descendant art, highlighting the richness and diversity of artistic expression. Africa, presented as a cradle of civilisation and a land of revelations, where art is an act of freedom and a celebration of life, makes AKAA 2025 one of the most inspiring events of Paris Art Week, and illustrates the continent’s growing influence in the visual arts, music, fashion and gastronomy.

At the opening, followed by an exclusive event at Le Serpent à Plume, we met Victoria Mann, founder of AKAA, as well as Serge Mouangue, Pascal K Douglas, Anne de Villepoix, Sitor Senghor, and others.
